WHO WE ARE
HOBY Illinois Central South (ILCS) is a chapter of Hugh O'Brian Youth Leadership--an international youth development non-profit organization. With over 500,000 alumni worldwide, HOBY is a premier youth leadership organization whose mission it is to "inspire and develop our global community of youth and volunteers to a life dedicated to leadership, service, and innovation."

WHAT WE DO
Four Days. One Experience.
HOBY ILCS's flagship experience is our four-day annual conference for over 100 high school sophomores from around the state. Students go through hands-on experiences that give them the tools to gain confidence in their leadership abilities and apply them in their own communities. Read below about the three main components of our curriculum.
Social Change Model of Leadership
The HOBY curriculum is based off the Social Change Model of Leadership. Below are the three main components of our program.

Personal Leadership
Student ambassadors start their leadership journey by reflecting on their values and discovering their personal leadership styles.

Group Leadership
After learning about themselves as leaders, ambassadors apply what they've learned to group leadership settings and figuring out how to best lead alongside others in group scenarios.

Service Leadership
The experience culminates with exploring local issues related to the UN's Sustainable Development Goals and participating in a community service project. Ambassadors learn how to apply their new leadership skills to problems in their own communities.
